new house ~

i've been debating on what to do with my room. my mom and i moved to a new house late November '07 and i just haven't had time to give my room a real "cozy, homey" feeling that my old rooms used to have.

so i'm looking for some advice on what color i should apply to my walls, whether it be through paint, wallpaper, cloth tapestry, etc. etc. and just any other ideas you might have, and what you just currently think :]





my bed from the door. as you can see, very very blank at the moment.


from the front, i've been debating moving my bed though, mainly because it's hard to fix it when my boyfriend comes to visit.

above shot of the other side of my room. my dresser is a little large, it's nice, but sometimes i wish i had something a little more space friendly. the one thing i do really love about it though is the middle compartment, which is like this:

my little jewelry box, my amazing Alice in Wonderland snowglobe * 3 * ♥, my piggy bank ;3 which so far i have $175.63 in that i've been saving for 2 months; and my Starbucks cup :D i work there and it's full of my achievement pins and gift card collection.


my boyfriend and i love Aladdin~ my snowglobe is one of my favorite possessions :3 ♥


my TINY princess figures X3 all i wanted was Jasmine, but it took me $16 to finally get her out of the machine XD; and in the process i got the whole set :P


the top of the mirror has pictures my boy took while hiking at Red Rock Canyon. :3


empty other corner of my room :[ so sad... that chair actually goes to our patio table set XD; but we lack a patio at the moment, so i took one :P


and to conclude~ this is me... doing the Miley Cyrus duck mouth look ;D i actually dislike her quite a bit to be honest XP

and I EAT POKEMANZ!! OMNOMNOM! especially Espeon * 3 * she's my fave ♥

and just browsing through, so SO many of you have amazing, inspiring, unique rooms ~ i hope mine can be as breathtaking and as impression leaving in the future. :]

I think a bright but deep turquoise would look AWESOME with the dark wood of your bed and dresser. And maybe accent it with crisp white bedding and shiny white accessories.

(Oh, and the photo frames on your night table are super cute. I like how you've arranged them in order by size, all diagonal style and parallel.)

i think my frames like that is one of the few things i really like with my room XD; i purposely try to buy all different frames too :3

and the turquoise sounds nice~ kinda makes me think of Jasmine or something. i'll definitely look into it :]

I think the tapestry idea is good because it's the easiest to change up when you get tired of it... paint needs to be painted over and wallpaper is just murder.... eeeeek
I think that a tapestry in a dark-ish shade of olive green would go really well with your existing bedding, wood color, and wall color :)

The paint and bedding is ok, I think. I love the color choice already. it suits your furnitures nice. You just need to 'spice up' a bit.

Adding more red will bring a romantic sense into your room. I see that the lampshade next to your bed is already red. Some clothes in the same tone...like Indonesian traditional Songket (this onne for example: http://papejafm.web.id/store/images/DSC_0046.jpg or this one http://www.nga.gov.au/IndonesianTextiles/CODE/Images/MED/96530.jpg , which both has golden tone on it) will look good spread upon your golden bedding, or drape it on your wall/headboard. Another choice is perhaps Indian Saree. It will also make your room a bit more exotic.

Red Turkish tapestry will also look good on your floor.
Dark-brown potter vase and red Gerberas will be a perfect final touch.

Sorry that I'm suggesting all warm color. I just love them in my bedroom, especially red.

oh! don't worry! i'm such a warm person, my fave color is actually orange, it's just so hard to express my love for it.

thank you for the suggestions! i was actually able to get a papasan chair for REALLY cheap today~ i might just buy a new cushion for it (most likely in red) and i'm probably gonna start looking into some decor in the next week :]

i'll keep you updated for sure!

Orange will also look good! I mean, it's halfway between golden yellow and red already. The three colors should make a good combination.

I think a sage green would look really good in the room. I like your furniture, it's really nice.

I looooove Jasmine and Aladdin. I remember as a kid just daydreaming of being Jasmine and owning a tiger, wearing that awesome outfit, having long silk black hair.. and dating a sexy hot carpet rider. :/ AND I dreamed of being Belle, she was so extremely beautiful. I also fell in love with the Beast. Hahahahahaha. :)

8D I went to UNLV. But I'm switching to CSN to finish my pre-reqs because I don't want to waste money (because honestly, i've been slacking in my studies lately) so yeah.

i'm gonna end up going back :3 but I LOVE Vegas. and yeah the summers are hot as hell~ but as long as it's not humid i am GREAT! XD'

which is funny because i'm going to louisiana for 2 weeks ;P
